That Rocky thread with mention of MrT making an appearance made me desperately hope that there'd be a showdown between MrT and Hulk Hogan. Remember them? God, I loved Hulk and the A Team. (I have that theme tune and a load of random TV tunes somewheres, if anyone wants them?)
Are any of you old enough to remember Count Duckula or Stoppit and Tidy-Up? How about SuperTed? I had this mad obsession with Rainbow, Fun House and the circus stop on PlayDays for a long long time...
Anyone care to share what kids TV they still long for/hold a lot of fab memories of?

Going seriously far back I recall lunchtimes at home watching Button Moon and a show with two hand puppets - a cat and a dog who lived in a play box. The cat would draw pictures with moving parts and the dog was generally cool. Voiced by a now old lady. Might be Nana Moon in Eastenders... not sure.

Was Knightmare the one where kids were in a lift and there was this weird presenter-face person, and they had to do challenges like collect letters out of a giant alphabet soup? And then the last level they had to take part in this one-step-at-a-time grid thing against someone who looked like Darth Vader?

It was a kinda medievel quest, and one kid wore a hat that was waaaaaaaay too big for him, and the others had to guide him through levels, collecting things, and solving puzzles. It rocked.

Shoe People used to fascinate me... the thought of shoes living in their own world out the back of a shoeshop was great. and when we used to go to Tom's house at lunch when we snuck out of primary school (we used to say "home dinners" when they did the dinner register to see who was packed or who needed school dinners.. good times), we always watched Sesame Street, always. no matter that we were supposedly the tough kids..

I only recall it being lunchtime because I only went home for lunch when I was at infant school, and... at the time I was dossing at my Polish Gran and Grandad's and those tv shows were one of the only nice things about that den of iniquity. I should have got Grampy to watch with me - might have cheered him up too.

what youre thinking of ellen is incredible games, it was... well, you can guess from the name Yay, someone can finally identify it for me! Thankyou! It used to remind me so much of Scratchy & co (with Mark Speight - who later went on to do Smart - as this disembodied head acting as a presenter, with plastic yellow hair... ) Also, I loved the original Power Rangers, Maxi (it was like a cartoon version of Barbie, but she was so cool to me way back then) annnd... Oh it was called something like Galaxy High, about teenage aliens. And The Jetsons... oh and there was one about a family of monsters - wasn't cartoon though, was more a case of men in suits: the teenage boy was caled Ronnie, and the baby was pink and really scary! Oh, I have another one for people to identify! It had a broter and sister in, I think, and they were taken to this "mystical land" type thing, where there was some emphasis on tea...? And there was a wicked queen who tried to put the blonde boy under a spell, but only the sister could tell, or something. Graham's description of Knightmare reminded me of it, but they didn't do tasks, I don't think. It was more a story - not contestants taking part. Any ideas?

the only galaxy high i know had human teens at an alien high school, so if youre sure abuot your description you must mean something else. the family of monsters werent monsters, but dinosaurs, which was also the name of the show
have no idea what you mean about the other one tho im afraid

And is it scary that I have no recollection of typing "monsters"? I was convinced I'd typed "dinosaurs" til I went back and checked. Strangeness. Eh, the last one I'll be surprised if anyone can help me out on. I only have very vague memories of it myself...

ok fine, i spose you might be right there, but the main focus was on the humans, so ner yes, it is rather worrying that you dont remember typing monsters. mustve been having one of your moments... if you could remember anymore details it would help, otherwise you could be thinking of just about anything

Trapdoor and Neighbours are among my earliest memories, and so precede my previous mentions by a couple of years. Also, a Saturday morning show presented by Neil Buchanan and a lady on roller boots who also wore stripey tights. She might have been Cleo Rocos with longer hair - I'm not sure.
