I'll miss it tonight as I'm going out, but I admit I did get a bit excited hearing all the whooshing on the advert.

i'm gonna watch it, i've never seen an episode of Dr Who before, so i'll have nothing to go on, but as with all remakes of classic shows it could well be a huge flop.

I watched it. And oh, how I miss the Pertwee and Baker! In my opinion, nothing can match up to them. I mean, fair enough to the new bloke, he's alright. I prefered the other stuff he's done (fab as the bad guy in 28 Days Later), and I'm not entirely sure it works with having the doctor as being that dappy... Hmm, but he turned out an ok performance. Don't get me started on Billie Piper, however, nor the supporting cast (who were pants - my drama class from college could have turned out a better performance, I have to say). I think the real test will be when the doctor encounters his ultimate nemisis: The Daleks. That's going to be the episode that makes the series or breaks it, as they're so well-known an enemy. My verdict: You can't beats the greats, and this series wasn't very memorable. I'd only be miffed if I missed the dalek episode, otherwise I'm not arsed about it, to be honest. Given the budget they had, the opportunities and the massively talented team behind it, they kind of let the side down, and didn't even begin to compete with past series... Decidedly average.

I echo everyone else's comment really, Ecclestone is a pretty good Doctor and I think the addition of decent special effects is pretty cool, yet I agree with Ellen's point about how bad the rest of the acting was...that Billie Piper's boyfriend was especially poor and Billie's accent was indeed annoying, yet she was better than I thought she'd be, but that isn't saying too much.
I enjoyed it, however a big thanks for making me even more scared of Mannequins than I was before....

So now you want to sound annoying?! Tssch, I'm done saving your arse, then! Edit: fixing your shoddy code... My edit: Actually, I fixed it right after I posted. Thus I fixed it first. Damn Billie-esque perfectionist!

Did anyone see it yesterday? I did... it was quite entertaining I found. Sillier than I expected, but they have improved the visuals a lot. At least now you don't feel that the sets were constructed by Blue peter presenters.

i like that fact that Christopher Ecclestone has quit...after only one or two episodes being screened!
