Are superstitions pointless? Do they work? Does anyone have any? Personally, i'm still unsure about them..i have one when i'm bowling, but i do think that it could be more force of habit than anything. Anyone else? please feel free to elaborate more than i have

I used to avoid walking under ladders, then I got caught in the trap of saluting magpies for a while. Then I decided it was all a big pile of Grade-7 Ape Excrement, and stopped bothering with superstitions. If anything, my life changed for the better, because I wasn't panicking about magpies not getting saluted.
And why the hell would a person salute a magpie anyway? It's not as though the magpie is in a position of authority, or a war veteran... Stupid magpies.

I used to have a weird habit of doing certain things twice when I was little. E.g. I couldn't clap once, it had to be twice.
