I recently got into Megadeth and am loving, loving Rust In Peace and Cryptic Writings. On the former you have fun fasts riffs and some nice melodic lead guitar going on, and in the latter you have a development of the lyrics especially really making you get in the head of the singer and stuff. Trust and I'll Get Even are particular stand outs on Cryptic Writings.

Briertone - a very good band judging by the 4 mp3s i have. not really what i normally listen to, they're very indie and have more than a hint of country-ness. but the songs are just so good, and the tunes are good, and its all just good. need to get their albums asap, but its tricky because they've not been released in Europe yet... b*ll*cks. i found a description: post-hardcore, bluegrass, indie southern rock. sorted.

Eisley I would link to their website, but frankly, i can't be arsed Think indie...add 2 vrilliant female voices, and just a touch of 'The OC' to the mix, and you've got Eisley - to some, they would be no different to others in their ilk, but some songs, such as "Telescope Eyes", "Tree Tops" and "Lost At Sea", really make you think, and the lyrics, in particular to "Lost At Sea"..theyt just make me wanna cry

Awwww... well good stuff by the sounds of it. It seems the most infectious stuff has a bit of everything according to us three - musical depth and lyrics you can either relate to or get drawn into. So far...

There's nowt wrong with Green Day! ok, they're recent albums haven't quite been to the standard of Dookie, or Nimrod, but they're still a decent band, that are flying the flag for rock, in a world of James Blunt's

Off on a slight tangent, but still in keeping with the theme:
-clubbing - Being a predominantly Indie-Rock chick, I've discovered the delights of infectious & poppy r'n'b (which I normally wouldn't get within a few hundred metres of by choice) and general chart cheese. Seriously, once you've got some booze in you on a girly night out and have been winked at by the barmen, it's surprising what you can loosen up to.
-"guilty pleasure" pop. You know - the kind which you bought when you were younge and hide away in your cd collection - can't bring yourself to throw it away and only play on the rare occasion. It turns out that all the stuff I'd consider as "ok in cheesy pop circumstances but embarrassing to admit to dancing to whilst gettting ready" music (like b*witched) is what my housemates LOVE and sing along to on a regular basis, so it's kind of infected me.
Also, in a more specific vein, I'd urge you all to have a listen to Rilo Kiley, The Arcade Fire, Nine Black Alps, Sleater-Kinney annnd The Dandy Warhols for feel-good dance-along-to-able non-embarrassing musics!

The Dandy Warhols for feel-good dance-along-to-able non-embarrassing musics! Oww yeah. Haven't really heard the others, but if I get the chance... I'll give them a chance.

The New Pornographers. Something about their feel-good pop struck a chord with me today. Also re-appreciating Feeder recently.

Tunde Baiyewu is solo now I noticed. I haven't heard his stuff but I did like The Lighthouse Family back in the day. Ocean Drive and Postcards From Heaven are both pretty good laid back feel good albums.

The Lighthouse Family. Great band. Ah yeah, about once a year I go back to their few albums and have a re-listen and re-appreciation of them.

I've been getting into them for a few months now - Ice Cube, N.W.A., Gang Starr, Jungle Brothers. Really getting into rap more than ever.
