A Q more for the girls on here than the boys though all are welcome to give their comment. Yes this is a poll based solely on appearance for the benefit of sad losers like myself who cannot get laid and have to make stupid polls for amusement. No not really but on a serious note, I thought this would be a little fun.

Ville Valo has a something about him... although the manly James Hetfield look, as made cool again by Trivium, is probably better.

i can see why both Ville Valo and James Hetfield could be seen as attractive, as they're either ends of the masculine scale, as it were....but neither do anything for me, unsurprisingly

Neither do it for me in any way whatsoever. I'm not a fan of the "ooh I'm trying so hard to be Stuart Townsend's Lestat" Valo nor the "past-it Stretch-Armstong-lookalike 'rocker'" Hetfield look, I'm afraid.

the "past-it Stretch-Armstong-lookalike 'rocker'" Hetfield look. Hetfield's been getting some heavy criticism lately - just recently I read somewhere someone described him as white trash. Okay... so what if he is just an ordinary guy? - aren't we all just ordinary people in an ordinary world? If they'd said he'd done something scummy like er, being involved in a brawl or... well you get the idea, then I'd understand, but criticising people for being ordinary. That's just bizarre. This is what bugs me about random criticisms. Though Ellen's remark is quite amusing by comparison. I would never have had Stretch Armstrong enter my head in relation to Hetfield!! As for Valo... a while back he was sporting one of those beanie hats... but it didn't look right to me but then he's one of those people I can't make my mind up about.

You're asking us to judge them purely on looks, so that's what I did. I googled them, browsed the first page, and gave my opinions. Not all opinions are going to be gleaming. If you didn't want any negativity then you shouldn't have included a "both suck ass" option. And hey, I'm sure that some people find Stretch Armstrong and/or Lestat visually appealing... Also, being described as "white trash" does not equate to being described as being ordinary. It refers to impoverished white people who were perceieved as being ignorant and lazy. And, according to the wikipedia entry, were not in a position to improve their lives, which were below the poverty and basic hygiene lines.

I wasn't slagging your opinion... I greatly welcome it. I just meant it is funny what gets thrown into the melting pot of social criticism. Though if you check again, I wasn't asking about the men themselves - just their styling. We could even substitute Zakk Wylde and um... Janie Lane*... which shows how behind the times I am when I can't think of anyone girlie of this current time other than Ville Valo. * Well I think he's kinda girlie anyway.
