For me it was Faith Evans and Puff Daddy with their tribute to Notorious B.I.G. - the adapted cover of Sting's Watching You... which became Missing You. I think.

I wouldn't call that late. I think I was 14, and didn't buy with any regularity until 18. Plenty of peeps from what I've heard start in the teens so I think we were about average on singles at least.

i don't actually think i've bought a single in my life....i've never seen the point in them, so if i wanted a song, i'd just buy the album it was on

I've been trying to think, and I honestly don't know... I know that mum bought a Sweetbox (?) one. And I have a few that date back from the same few year time period (like 5ive, Alda, Spice Girls probably, and that Boyzone Comic Relief one), all of which I cringe at the very thought of now. No idea about specifics, however.
