I'm listening to the Fair Warning album, (DLR era) so I got thinking.
I think all 3 singers have their strengths, but when it comes to performance, the Diamond Dave time is my favourite. Sammy Hagar annoys me despite having quite a good voice. Gary Cherone... not quite what you would expect from Van Halen but I like the video he's in on the video hits. He does his job well and I think he got treated a bit harshly as he does sing well, but I can see how he is different from the usual Van Halen mould of singers.
