Since hearing of the shooting in Ohio where Damageplan's Dimebag Darrell and others, were killed, I am not very optimistic at the moment about the state of things. Music is one of the greatests social outlets for people, and now because of one horrible person, his act of insanity will probably be associated with a great talent and pioneer of modern metal.
It is always sad when a much loved musical figure dies, but the sheer brutality of this makes it all the more difficult to accept.
If strip searches and metal detectors are to become the norm for admittance to clubs and gigs now, then if it protects concert goers and performers alike, then I for one am in favour.
Let's not let this terrible atrocity happen again.

it was such a terrible thing to happen. i just hope to god no one decides to copy it.
and the media are going to lay into Anselmo now, cos he said last week in Metal Hammer he wanted Dimebag "severely beaten".

That's the problem when anyone opens their mouth really... say anything remotely dodgy sounding and the news hounds will jump on you sometimes.
I was surprised though that there had not been much coverage... I guess if it had been a British musician there would have been more fuss made on tv... or at least my mum said she didn't know anything about it when I rang her yesterday. I am without tv at the moment. It's not like people in the U.K. don't carry guns... for years the numbers of armed drugs gangs and stuff have been increasing, although, of course, this particular incident was caused by one individual and had no connection with that sort of thing. I think Britain should take heed and be prepared before something like that happens here.

It's a pity they've got it on a site for more light hearted stuffs. I don't like the thought of it being there for the potential for people to p*sstake. The guy is clearly suffering, and feeling bad about stuff related to the break up of Pantera. You can't change the past though. Why did he have to go on camera?

i know its on that site, but i just stumbled across it. i don't know where it was posted originally.
and i guess that was just his way of dealing with it. i don't think Phil Anselmo is the type of person to try and cash in on it, by going on camera.
