I'm sure there was a thread about this before, but the search turned up nothing so...
Anyway, Rocky 6 has now been confirmed by Sylvester Stallone. He's once again gonna be in the ring properly, against an opponent rumoured to be Antonio Carver, of real-life boxing fame. Although many names have been mentioned, even Mr T...
Might be ok, might be sh*t. Sly is approaching 60 for crying out loud, although admittedly he still looked pretty good on The Contender, i dunno how that would look in a Rocky movie. Personally i think he's just too old and it could taint Rocky series...

I think it is rather daft. Rocky was supposed to be risking it by going into the ring in Rocky 5... Rocky 6 - is Stallone crazy?! Maybe he wants the character to die in the ring?

Maybe he wants the character to die in the ring? Or maybe he just got bored of polishing all his current millions, and wants to shine up a few more... Gawd, if they come up with some cracking script/storyline/concept/whatever, then fair enough. but to me it just seems the same old tired thing... I mean, how many different ways are there to twist a plotline when it's based around boxing? Or anything of that ilk, to be perfectly honest. If it were to follow the Alien franchises' lead, which is to simply but successfully rehash what is essentially the old "haunted house" plotline but in an imaginative manner, then fair enough. But whilst even that series of films were struggling for enthralling ways to bump off the cast by having the alien eat/salivate/generally tear them limb from limb by the fourth enstallment, I think the Rocky crop reached it's peak wayyy back.

the first 3 Rocky's were great - really liked them...then Rocky IV and V went downhill faster than a Conger Eel on a bobsleigh I can see this being sucessful, as the fans will want to see Sly tw*tting someone with his zimmer, but it's a MASSIVE risk. Some things are best left
