Kate Bosworth is in talks to play Lois Lane, and Kevin Spacey is confirmed to play Lex Luthor in the Bryan Singer-helmed Superman movie for Warner Bros. Pictures, which is slated for a summer 2006 release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Oh, also, looking as the confirmed cast so far (which I know consists of about three actors, but still...), I'm not sold on it.

Firstly, Kate Bosworth. Erm, just doesn't scream "Lois" to me, personally, and I find her annoying at times... So

Kevin Spacey can pull of practically anything, and could play a smug b*st*rd pretty well, I think, so he'd be foinedy as Lex, methinks.

I have no idea about the new guy. Still can't decide whether casting an unknown was a good idea... And someting about him just doesn't seem right.

The original film and those "The New Adventures Of Superman" or whatever it was, with Dean Cain - they were convincing, for want of a better word. I could believe that the actors present in those could really have the characteristics of Lois, Clark et al. This new film just seems like it'll turn into a feature-length version of the rather unconvincing (in my opinion) sugary fluff that was Smallville.

i don't like superman. he's the worst superhero. spiderman is better, and the spiderman films are great. i don't think this will be.
